We are a collective of volunteers who seek to provide liberation-based childcare, in which caretakers are queer-friendly, attentive, passionate, and progressive. We partner with organizations that recognize childcare as an institutional need. The high cost along with the low quality of childcare has a devastating impact on low-income families who are disproportionately made up of single mothers, immigrant women and families, and women of color. These groups are absolutely essential to progressive movement-building. The Collective therefore provides quality, competent, free childcare for ongoing meetings and one-time events for progressive organizations.
